Harris Building is a Sydney-based construction company focused on delivering professional building and renovation services. Being specialists in extensions and first floor additions, we believe that building or renovating your home should be a rewarding experience – not a stressful one.

Led by director Paul, our team brings a hands-on approach to every project. We focus on quality craftsmanship, clear communication and making sure the details are done right. Paul works closely with clients throughout the process to ensure their vision is understood, respected and brought to life with care.

From an initial enquiry to the pre-construction phase and onto commencement of any project, our approach is professional, honest and transparent. We understand how important it is to develop a collaborative relationship with our clients and architects, and we believe this provides the very backbone for a successful building project.

PRE-CONSTRUCTION

The first step to the journey together begins with our first site meeting. This offers two important things, getting to know each other and allowing us to do an in-person inspection of the existing site. This then allows us to gather as much relevant information about the site as possible which in turn assists in the estimation process and ensures we can provide an accurate and comprehensive quotation.

During our meeting, an overview of the project scope is usually discussed with a focus on client expectation and what is valued most in a home as well as the construction materials proposed for use and our recommendations for changes and/or general suggestions we may have to ensure the best outcome for overall quality, thermal performance and functionality.

Following the site visit we take away all the gathered information and begin with an estimation proposal (quotation). During this time, we liaise closely with our clients, suppliers, trade contractors and/or designers, and pin point finer details with selections such us the joinery, toilets, floor coverings, Air conditioning, lighting etc to get the best understanding of all items that will be included in the project finishes schedule. This process usually takes a few weeks depending on the complexity of the project and what’s involved.

Once our proposal is accepted, if need be we can offer referrals for private certifiers and/or engineers which can be of an advantage as the trust and experience sets the process up for success.

From here we finalise a contract and decide on a commencement date. Now the exciting stuff happens, we start building!

DURING CONSTRUCTION

Throughout the build, we continue on with the transparent approach by inviting you to join the Wunderbuild platform portal where all things project related can be discussed, decided or reminded. Here you’ll have access to email, message and diary logs, photos, building and engineer plans, project scheduling, as well as all documentation related to the project. It’s the all-in-one place for us to track things and keep communication open and organised.

Not all builds are the same, and with that brings surprises or necessary changes from time to time that may need to be resolved. When this occurs, we notify our clients so a meeting can be scheduled to discuss an approach to achieving the best possible solution. Once resolved, it puts all parties on the same page with a course of action so the build can progress without any delay. From there, we record all relevant documentation so it can be accessible via the Wunderbuild client login and everything remains as clear and transparent for our clients as it can be.

Upon project completion, we offer assistance in obtaining Occupation certificates so you can be rest assured that support will be there to ensure a smooth transition throughout the handover period.

POST CONSTRUCTION

Maintaining a relationship after completion of the project is important to us. We like to give you extra peace of mind by being accessible for any questions you might have. We take pride in building a reputation based on honesty and professionalism.
